National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has taken a proactive approach to boost local employment by hiring workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals in extreme poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to BGN, shared that 30% of the personnel in each SPPG will come from underprivileged households, aligning with the President’s directive to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program contributes to job opportunities. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units established in collaboration with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering in the program. The MBG Program has already benefited over 7.4 million individuals nationwide, including students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers. BGN plans to launch an additional 2,401 SPPG units in the next 10 days to serve approximately 15 million beneficiaries, expanding the program’s reach. This initiative aims to support job creation and address nutritional needs in underprivileged communities.
