President Indonesia Prabowo Subianto commended Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim for successfully mediating the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, leading to a ceasefire. The praise came during their bilateral meeting at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. President Prabowo congratulated Prime Minister Anwar for his leadership as ASEAN Chair and for securing the ceasefire, expressing gratitude for the accomplishment. He also expressed Indonesia’s readiness to support Prime Minister Anwar in his dual roles as Malaysian Prime Minister and ASEAN Chair. President Prabowo emphasized the importance of peaceful conflict resolution through consultation, negotiation, and consensus among ASEAN nations. He highlighted mediation as the most effective approach for resolving conflicts, especially among Southeast Asian countries with shared cultural and historical ties. The President was joined by key members of the Red and White Cabinet in welcoming Prime Minister Anwar, including Minister of Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono.
