Prabowo Advises New Military and Police Officers: Lead by Example

President Prabowo Subianto urged the newly commissioned officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) to always set a good example in their daily lives. Speaking at the 2025 Oath-Taking and Commissioning Ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, Prabowo emphasized the importance of internalizing the oath taken as a commitment to serve the nation and its people. He reminded the officers that their oath was a sacred pledge before God and the Indonesian people, urging them to deeply understand and live out their commitment with integrity and readiness to sacrifice for the country.

Prabowo highlighted the great responsibility that now rests on the shoulders of the newly commissioned officers, including the duty to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and the security of its people. He also revisited Indonesia’s struggle for independence, emphasizing the sacrifices made in achieving freedom and warning of the challenges and threats the country may face in the future. Prabowo underscored the importance of strength and unity to prevent Indonesia from bowing to the interests of foreign powers.

As the supreme commander of the armed forces, Prabowo called on the officers to remember the words they spoke during the oath-taking ceremony and to fulfill their commitment with dedication and, if necessary, ultimate sacrifice. He urged the officers to lead by example and be prepared to serve the nation with honor and courage.
