President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, expressed his excitement about Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s initiative to bring hundreds of Brazilian entrepreneurs to Indonesia during a bilateral meeting at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília. Prabowo welcomed this plan as a way to enhance cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of trade and investment. He emphasized the potential for significant collaboration given the shared interests and abundant resources of both Indonesia and Brazil.
Prabowo also lauded Brazil’s advancements in agriculture and bioenergy, expressing Indonesia’s interest in learning from Brazil’s experiences in these fields. He appreciated President Lula’s support for Indonesia’s efforts to send technical teams to study Brazil’s innovations and agricultural technologies, acknowledging the valuable knowledge exchange that could benefit both nations.
Apart from his state visit to Brasília, Prabowo attended the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro during his trip to Brazil. President Lula is expected to reciprocate the visit by traveling to Indonesia in October, where Prabowo mentioned plans for a special celebration to mark Lula’s 80th birthday in Jakarta. This signifies the strong diplomatic ties and mutual cooperation between Indonesia and Brazil, reflecting a promising future for further collaboration between the two nations.
