A recent meeting was held at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, where several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet gathered to discuss the situation of laid-off PT Sritex employees. The main agenda of the meeting was focused on finding solutions for the affected workers, following a directive from Prabowo. Key attendees included Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and PT Sritex Curator Nurma Sadikin.

During the meeting, Prasetyo emphasized the president’s concern for the workers and stressed the urgency of addressing the issues faced by PT Sritex after the company declared bankruptcy in October 2024. The objective is to rehire approximately 8,000 employees with a revised working scheme within the textile sector. Minister Yassierli also praised the curator’s efforts in ensuring that former Sritex employees could potentially be rehired within the next two weeks.

Prabowo’s commitment to providing support and guidance is expected to offer relief to PT Sritex employees affected by the layoffs. The Ministry of Manpower is actively working to protect the rights of PT Sritex Group workers by ensuring they receive layoff compensation and other entitlements. The PT Sritex Curator Team is currently in the process of selecting investors to oversee Sritex’s assets under a new scheme, with the ultimate goal of reemploying the laid-off workers. This initiative seeks to provide stability for the affected employees and offer a solution to their current predicament.
