President Prabowo Subianto recently met with Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and Deputy Minister of KKP Didit Herdiawan at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta to discuss the unauthorized sea fence construction in Tangerang, Banten Province. It was revealed that the construction was done without proper permits, a violation of regulations under the Job Creation Law. Consequently, the construction has been sealed while further investigation is conducted to determine ownership and legality. President Prabowo has instructed a comprehensive legal examination of the issue, involving collaboration with various parties such as the Indonesian Navy and the Marine Security Agency (Bakamla). The primary goal is to ensure adherence to legal procedures and prevent potential negative impacts like erosion. This proactive approach showcases the government’s dedication to upholding regulations and safeguarding marine resources.
