JAKARTA — PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk. (PGE) has appointed Yurizki Rio as the finance director, replacing Nelwin Aldriansyah in an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPSLB).
“Strategic steps have been taken by us to strengthen financial management and accelerate the achievement of the company’s goals in the increasingly potential geothermal industry,” said Chief Commissioner of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk Sarman Simanjorang in a statement received in Jakarta on Monday.
Yurizki Rio previously held the position of Director – Head of Investment Banking Advisory/M&A at PT BNI Sekuritas (BNIS). He is a professional with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas, Dallas, USA and a master’s degree from Prasetya Mulya University.
Sarman considers Yurizki Rio’s proven experience in investment banking, corporate finance, and investor relations as the main factors to optimize the company’s financial performance.
As a professional who has been involved in the financial industry for 15 years, Sarman said that Rio specializes in finding sources of financing, debt restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, and creating digital payment system models.
“The future business challenges of PGE must be anticipated with new spirit,” he said.
On this occasion of RUPSLB, Sarman also appreciates Nelwin’s performance during his three years of dedication to the company.
“During his tenure, Mr. Nelwin has significantly contributed to improving the company’s financial performance,” he said.
In addition to announcing changes in the board of directors, he also reported the company’s positive production performance for 2023. Production realization as of September 2023 reached 3,586 Gigawatt hours (GWh), showing a 4.3 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year, which was 3,439 GWh.
“This increase in production is due to several factors. One of them is the completion of the debottlenecking piping project in the Ulubelu area and the acceleration of planned maintenance activities in several power plants in the company’s working area,” said President Director of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk Julfi Hadi.
